About us

Our research activities are carried out driven by the following three key concepts:

  1. Elucidating the fundamental mechanisms of intracellular degradation system, with a focus on autophagy
  2. Investigating the physiological functions regulated by intracellular degradation system, with a focus on autophagy
  3. Understanding the pathological mechanisms of diseases caused by abnormalities in intracellular degradation system, with a focus on autophagy

To achieve these research objectives, we employ “high-depth proteome analysis using mass spectrometry” as our core technology. Our center actively promotes collaborative research with experts in intracellular degradation systems both within and beyond our institution. Through these efforts, we aim to further advance Japan’s leading research in protein degradation, pioneer new research fields, and foster young researchers in related fields. Additionally, promoting collaborative and interdisciplinary research remains one of our key missions.

To support these goals, we have established shared research spaces and equipment facilities, providing an environment that is both accessible and conducive to dynamic research in intracellular degradation systems.
